Re: Movie role: I just watched Guy of Gisborn "I Like it Rough" with Richard Armitage, and feel Richard is truly the best actor in all regards to play Richard III in an historical biography. He most closely resembles Richard, and portrays the right degree of mature masculinity and introspection, that would compliment what we know of Richard III. Forget the height issue, it can be dealt with with camera angles and special effects But Richard has the acting range and a true love for Richard III, to do him justice. Carol D.

Re casting for movie: I just looked at the Images page on Google for Orlando Bloom, and totally agree that for every facial feature of Richard, Orlando fits the bill! Aquiline nose, square, strong jaw, chin, intense but expressive eyes, pleasant, expressive features in all&We had better hurry up, I hope this movie idea gets going!!!! Carol D.

To properly audition Orlando, one must really view the Director's Cut (NOT the theatrical cut) of Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven."

I adore Bloom, but I don't know that he has the emotional weight as an actor to carry off the role. Yes, the physical resemblance is there (except for the eyes -- Orlando's are brown). He also has broken very nearly every bone in his body -- including his back -- and was told after falling three stories that he'd never walk again.

My vote is still for Richard Armitage as Richard III because (sorry Orly) Armitage puts so much more depth and passion into his characters. But hey, I wouldn't kick if Orlando were cast. When he was 21, he made me believe in Elves. He's something like 35 now, and I'm sure he could make me believe he was Richard.

Well Bloom is closer in age but I've never been a fan, i think he has a mean mouth.  Although he was good in Kingdom of Heaven.  I itched to slap him - hard! -  in Troy and think I just can't get his Paris out of my head, which presumably means he can act.

I think Rupert Friend would be better but if I'm totally honest I'd rather have a too old, too tall Armitage than anyone (I know that Paul if he's reading this will be curling his lip in horror )
