A bit of free good reading

Do you want to know:

how much it cost to keep H6 in the Tower
how much it cost to bury him
how much Eddie paid for his jackets
how much Richard was paid per day for the Scottish campaign
how much Warwick got for Richard's keep?

Then download Issues of the Exchequer by Frederick Devon free in PDF form from google books.
Great reading for a wet afternoon

(and what about that payment they tried to sneak out to Jasper Tudor?!!)

Grazing Eileen - but I do love the bit where Edward makes a payment to someone he's not prepared to disclose for something he's not prepared to disclose.

I reckon all the great whodunnits on this have yet to be written - and so many versions!!

Any idea if there are any surviving roll(s) like this for Richard's reign?
Or if the entire rolls have been "published?"

You can painstakingly go through the NA discovery website and get the 'headlines' but obviously more in quantity because these are just extracts. Yes there are some for Richard's reign on there. I haven't come across any more old books like this - yet

I have downloaded F Devon but my copy only goes as far as the reign of Henry VI. Where did I go wrong?
Thanks for posting news of the source all the same!

It should go straight to E4 - if you can't get it, send me your email and I'll email you a copy of mine. Mine has 823 pages - is yours shorter?
