Thank you Weds that was excellent. Incidentally years ago in an article either in the Ricardian Bulletin or in the Yorkshire Branch Magazine, which I thnk is called Blanc Sanglier, there was a short article saying that Jorvik, the Viking name for York, means Vale of the White Boar. So that is possibly how Richard choose his emblem.
