Is pop singer the fruit of dynastic revenge?
Is pop singer the fruit of dynastic revenge?

His forename is EDWARD. He was the lead singer of an Eighties group and subsequently a television presenter.
His first surname is TUDOR and he has the misfortune to be a direct descendant of Henry VIII.
The group was called "Tenpole Tudor" and his second surname is POLE.
Now there is a chance that the name is contrived or that his Pole ancestors were not the descendants of Richard's niece or of her marital relatives.
However, the derivation of hyphenated names is that the first surname is that of the mother and the second of the father, whenever the marriage or relationship took place. In other words, a Mr. Pole (who could be a descendant of Clarence) seems to have married, and fathered a child by, a Miss Tudor - a genuine female descendant of the Chopaholic.
I am intrigued.

Stephen:
... Miss Tudor - a genuine female descendant of the Chopaholic.
Ann:
And did he actually leave any descendents who could ultimately have produced a Miss or Mr. Tudor?

Perhaps Jones and Channel 4 can solve this one - they traced Clarence
down to Michael Hastings! My local paper definitely defined Tudor-
Pole as a descendent of H8.

I thought all of H8's children died childless, including his illegimate son by a Miss Blount (I think that was the name). Though I did hear the story that he Henry had another son by Anne Boleyn's sister Mary but, if true and not a novelist's fantasy, he was known by the name of Mary's husband not Tudor.

Tudor wasn't a rare Welsh surname though, was it? And there was
always uncle Jasper. Did he leave any descendants, legitimate or
otherwise? And what about grandfather Tudor? Were there any great-
uncle Tudors who might have bred?
