What just happened to this group? I can't find my place (the last read message) and there's no link for Post"--I had to click "start new topic"? Are the Yahooligans trying to turn us into Facebook? Neil, if you're reading this, please try to give us back our old format! The new one is horrible. It must be a Tudor conspiracy! Carol

I doubt Neil can change it back. It's Yahoo's new design for YahooGroups.
And it seems worse than what you've found. I've had to go on
single-messages-delivered-to-my-inbox to read the current messages.
When I tried replying to something on Yahoogroups itself (which was
easy before the change), an error message says, "You have to use plain
text." When I switch the message to plain text after managing to find
the button that does so, the message never shows up on the group.
Yahoogroups also seems have taken away the ability to expand the
messages from headings to complete messages on Yahoogroups. There are
threads under specific headings, but no stream of messages that I can
find.
I'm not sure this message will post to the group either.
Bah. I think most people have gone over to Facebook which design is worse.

Carol responds: Hi, Weds. There's a stream of messages, but they're listed newest first and I had to search through about twenty of them to find the last one I'd read. I also had to figure out how to post and how to expand the message (click on the ellipsis). I still hate it, but at least I know what to do now. Guess I'd better put the quoted messages in quotes because the pointy brackets no longer show up. Carol

Ah, this is Yahoo, that explains it. FB is bad enough, but the two of them are arbitrary and dictatorial. I despair unsocial media.

I know, Carol, I have a heck of a time finding the threads. Obviously, Yahoo does not have a librarian on staff.

I can't find anything here, except the latest addressed to my e-mail address! Have given up.... FB is seriously annoying, but maybe the forum could think of migrating there? Or are some of us just seriously computer-skills-deficient?

To all,
It has made a mess of all groups and everyone is complaining like mad about it.
It also seems they have corrupted all moderators as well to some extent and they are looking into this now so we have some control back again.
At the moment there isn't much I can do possibly until they sort things out and secondly I am packing to go away for our holiday. I will take the iPad with me and if management let's me play I shall try to keep up with events as they unfold.
Regards,
Neil

It has made a mess of all groups and everyone is complaining like mad about it.
It also seems they have corrupted all moderators as well to some extent and they are looking into this now so we have some control back again.
At the moment there isn't much I can do possibly until they sort things out and secondly I am packing to go away for our holiday. I will take the iPad with me and if management let's me play I shall try to keep up with events as they unfold.

I have tried four times to edit the Sceptred Isle header from Tudor to "Tudor" after JA-H's research and there has been an eror every time.

Re: What on earth?

The Yahoo site in general appears to have glitches right now. I have a cousin who used to play in the NHL (professional ice hockey) and I had set up a news alert years ago. He's retired from the NHL now and I hadn't gotten any alerts in some time, and suddenly Yahoo is sending me about five a day, and they're not even anything new. They're the same links over and over again. I'm going to try cancelling it and setting it up again. Yes, it does look like they're trying to fix something that's not broken.
