Reminder to all in the U.K that this Sunday the 18th on BBC1 at 18.30 you
can see the Historyonics programme on Richard III. This is the 3rd in the
series presented by Nick Knowles, a man usually seen in make over shows.
First programme was on 1066, the second on Robin Hood. Unstuffy, with actors
playing the chief characters, I found the first programme hard to stay with.
I'm not sure what audience they are looking for if it isn't children, so I'm
not looking forward to what they say about Richard, but let us hope it
debunks the mythology if nothing else, and spends as little time as possible
on what happened to those 'bastards in the Tower'.

As I said, if it stops children from empathising with those ex-
Princes, it will be a sort of success. The next generation are an
easier target for Ricardianism than current adults who may know
little history but stick rigidly to what they were taught.

How was the programme on Richard III?
In a word - rubbish!
And will someone please take Hutton out and throw him across a wooden block!
Still a decent programme about Richard waiting to be made.
