New Time-Life book on worst crimes in history

The day before yesterday, I was waiting in line at the grocery-store checkout counter when I spotted a new Time-Life book called something like "Worst Crimes in History" or "worst Crimes of All Time." Naturally, I grabbed it to check the contents page. The second article was about the so-called Princes in the Tower, complete with a photo of Richard's skeleton lying in its grave. The author pointed out the inaccuracy of the Princes in the Tower label, but only because one of the boys was "really" a king, not because they had both been declared bastards (though that fact is also mentioned with the implication that it was a lie). The article contains one definite factual error (Richard of York brought to London along with his brother) and is otherwise based on assumptions. The conclusion is that Richard was not Shakespeare's monster but a man of his time who probably killed his nephews. In other words, the standard moderate traditionalist view in a glossy publication that puts Richard at the head of a list of notorious murderers, including Jack the Ripper. I didn't take time to see which other murders were included (probably the Lindbergh baby, for one), and (no doubt thanks to my faulty memory for the title), I can't find anything about this new book online. The grocery clerk, however, was excited about it and intended to buy it (or at least read it during her breaks), so I cautioned her not to take the "Princes in the Tower" story at face value.
Sigh! It never ends. Sensationalism sells so much better than truth.
