Rush mats

Going back to a subject that was recently discussed, it's interesting to see on Tudor Monastery Farm (set in 1500) currently on BBC2 that they have scattered loose herbs on the floor and then laid on top of those woven rush matting, and not the loose rushes so beloved of novelists. So the general consensus of opinion on here was correct! I don't know where BBC2 get their sources though, it's never been mentioned as far as I'm aware, but I do have a habit of not paying full attention! Interesting programme though. Sharon
