For anyone who is interested, these links will take you to information about Richard's exhibition here in Gloucester next month. http://www.gloucestercitizen.co.uk/Richard-III-Exhibition-City-Proves-Popular/story-20576621-detail/story.html http://venues.gloucester.gov.uk/freetime/museums/ http://venues.gloucester.gov.uk/Freetime/Museums/events/Richard-III-Festival.aspx Credit is being given where credit is due, i.e. the Society's role in things. And we'll have JAH and Philippa here too. As well as The Head, of course. I'm booked for the preview evening, and can't wait! Sandra =^..^=

It sounds really good Sandra; it's absolutely right that Gloucester should be putting on something for Richard of Gloucester!! Alas, you are still in my trash :) H

Hilary, you're obviously a classy bird, because you're NEVER in my trash. And yes, I'm delighted Gloucester is pulling out some stops. He was our duke, and when he was king he granted our charter, so we have a bit of a claim to him. Jan here. Thanks for this. It looks like Gloucester is making much more of exhibiting the facial reconstruction than the British Museum did. I saw the reconstruction in the BM & thought they'd made a very poor effort, wrote & said so & got a lacklustre reply - but a reply at least. I hope the citizens of Gloucester will be better pleased than the BM visitors.

Hello
I have just joined the forum. I went to the BM 2 weeks ago and like you I was very disappointed with the display of the reconstructed head which should be displayed at eye level. I sent a lengthy post on feedback but have not received a reply. Best wishesJane

Jan here. It was a good idea to send feedback because if we don't tell the organisers they won't know. You may yet hear back. It will be interesting to compare answers!

Talking about feedback...The Gloucester site has heard from me. The page that deals with the Richard exhibition has a download a brochure' button. So I downloaded...only to find it was for May-August 2012! Incredible. Doesn't bode well, I fear.
