Duke of York on Duke(s) of Gloucester / LFR criticism
Re: Duke of York on Duke(s) of Gloucester / LFR criticism
Rats, you can only see the BBC broadcast in Britain. I am glad someone from the Royal Family is, at the very least, tiptoeing around the issue!

For anyone who may be interested: The (current) Duke of York was interviewed on BBC Look North last night and the interviewer slipped in a question about the reburial of King Richard. The DoY was very diplomatic, but mentioned that the (current) Duke of Gloucester was involved with discussions on the subject - without any details. Here's the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ iplayer/episode/b03wwx2n/Look_ North_(Yorkshire)_04_03_2014/ the question appears at around 16 minutes. There was also a piece in today's Independent about the Looking for Richard project criticism of treatment of the remains: http://www. independent.co.uk/news/uk/ home-news/university-of- leicester-criticised-over- destructive-tests-on-remains- of-richard-iii-9169191.html

Sorry Pamela. The interviewer is a staunch advocate of a York burial and had been asking the Duke about enterprise in the county. The Duke had just called Yorkshire 'God's own county' (without any prompting!) and then gave a very measured response when asked about the burial. Not fazed at all, but saying he wasn't involved in the situation, but that the D of G was. Whether this is simply in his role as Society patron wasn't mentioned. It sounded rather definite, as though real discussions might be happening somewhere. The interview wasn't live, so the question and response must have had the blessing of the programme producer and the prince's people, otherwise they could have been edited out easily enough. Best wishes, CarolFW

Thanks for posting the links here.I remember taking my children to many interactive exhibitions/museums when they were younger.Having seen the proposed Visitor Centre in Leicester (no pro or anti one way or the other to be taken into consideration) this place would never get my seal of approval.
I'm pleased that the Duke of York has given a response to the question with regard to Richard III and that the Duke of Gloucester continues his involvement.
