Plantagenet series on BBC

For those of us in the UK (sorry everyone else!), there's a
new 3 part documentary series starting next Monday 17th on BBC 2 at 2100hrs on
the Plantagenets. It says it covers from 1154 up to Richard's death. How much
exposure Richard will get remains to be seen though. Might be worth
watching.

We'll poop, we get BBC America, so I am very disappointed. I did see in our new Acorn Media catalogue that we can purchase two tapes, "The Wars of the Roses" and "Richard III"!

Where did you read it covers up to our
Richard's death?
First episode is Henry II and his two sons, which leaves only two
hours to go from Henry III to 1485! Most historians consider the
Houses of Lancaster an York as being after Plantagenet, which
makes me think they will go up to Richard II's death.
I've tried to find out on the BBC website but they give no
details beyond epsiode 1.
Paul

p.s. also tonight there is a film on how to get ahead at the court
of Richard II, which should prove interesting.

Can't find anything on the tv series
but lots of links to the radio series which does end with our
Richard and was broadcast last year.

Paul, this is the tiny blurb from the 2 video series…..not too happy about the Martyr or Monster crack!
“More than 500 years after his death, King Richard III’s battle-scarred
bones were found beneath an English parking lot in August 2012. Richard III: Martyr or Monster? retraces his life; The Wars of Roses recounts the bloody struggle for power between the Houses of York and Lancaster. Includes battle reconstructions, dramatized
re-enactments, and computer mapping. 1 hr 50 min, 2 DVDs.”

This is something completely different,
Pamela.
I don't know it. Most of the straight to video productions are
pretty bad. The WOTR one is terrible! Also one about Macbeth.
What is the name of the production company and director of this
Monster one? Do you know? Is it on the box?

Paul, I looked and the box says Kulture, and not a thing about the director. So, with no details, and the cutesy KULTURE, I think I shall give it a pass.

put his name to it, then it is certainly something to be avoided!
