Re: Plantagenet series on BBC
First episode is Henry II and his two sons, which leaves only two hours to go from Henry III to 1485! Most historians consider the Houses of Lancaster an York as being after Plantagenet, which makes me think they will go up to Richard II's death.
I've tried to find out on the BBC website but they give no details beyond epsiode 1.
Paul
p.s. also tonight there is a film on how to get ahead at the court of Richard II, which should prove interesting.

Re: Plantagenet series on BBC
Paul, this is the tiny blurb from the 2 video series…..not too happy about the Martyr or Monster crack!
“More than 500 years after his death, King Richard III’s battle-scarred bones were found beneath an English parking lot in August 2012. Richard III: Martyr or Monster? retraces his life; The Wars of Roses recounts the bloody struggle for power between the Houses of York and Lancaster. Includes battle reconstructions, dramatized re-enactments, and computer mapping. 1 hr 50 min, 2 DVDs.”

Re: Plantagenet series on BBC
I don't know it. Most of the straight to video productions are pretty bad. The WOTR one is terrible! Also one about Macbeth.
What is the name of the production company and director of this Monster one? Do you know? Is it on the box?

Carol responds:
It's Kultur, actually. Here's a link to their webpage for the DVD, which involves Philippa Langley (the only cast member mentioned):
http://www.kultur.com/Richard-III-Martyr-or-Monster-p/d4869.htm
If I'm not mistaken, it is or was available from the American branch. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
