This is a light-hearted enquiry, but genuine, and is directed to those forum ladies who may have bearded husbands/boyfriends/fathers/brothers/uncles/grandfathers/cousins/friends. Having reached almost 70 without any experience of hirsute gentlemen, may I ask if beards can be soft as well as wiry? No laughing now, because I'd like to hear from those in the know. Just what is it like to kiss a hairy man???? I shrink from going out and grabbing the first passing beard' to find out. Absolutely every man in my life has been beardless, although there have been a few taches. And this is for research purposes, honest. Contact me privately if you wish. No names, no pack drill. If I don't hear from anyone, I'll have to believe Ricardian ladies only go for clean-shaven chaps. But if there are any experts out there...? <g> Sandra =^..^=

Dear Sandra,
At 63, I've been "friendly" with gentlemen of various sorts of beards, as well as the clean-shaven. Aesthetically, I've judged each man on whether facial hair suits him or not (it can help a "weak" chin, for example). I prefer clean-shaven, probably because I grew up among fastidiously shaved men...but then there was always the long, dark-haired, beardless man in my dreams since childhood. Another story ;-)
Short, stubble-type beards are prickly, but as the beard grows out, it will reveal itself to be more or less curly. The curlier beards seem rougher, as a rule, than the less curly ones. And grooming of the beard can help this along. As a small child, I once kissed a Macy's Santa on the cheek, and his beard was quite silky...and as he showed me, quite Real. (To be honest, I kissed him because I was very curious; I don't as a rule go about kissing strange men, LoL.)

Thank you, Judy. I am such a novice. Not a single beard, in all these years. I hang my head in shame. I do know the stubble thing horrible! About four days' worth, and scratchy as a wire brush. It was my husband, and he hasn't neglected his shaves ever since. So, what's this about a mysterious, dark-haired, beardless man of your dreams? Or would my first guess probably be spot on? <g> Sandra =^..^= From: Judy Thomson Sent: Monday, March 17, 2014 1:51 PM To: Subject: Re: Beards
