I speak, of course, of Lady Margaret's descendants.
Early in her reign, Elizabeth I had a bout of smallpox and a successor was lined up: Henry, Lord Hastings, Lady Margaret's great grandson and husband of Catherine Dudley.
I have not checked the year as I intend to tackle the biography in chronological order - remember that James VI was only born in 1566/7 and that Francis of Huntingdon (Henry's father) died in 1569/70.
So the Crown would have reverted back to Richard's heirs, peacefully.
