2015 Reburial practical organisation

Hi,I haven't checked Ricardian news in a while, so I discovered only yesterday that the reburial date was set for March 26, 2015, and a service for the Society is set for March 23rd.

The Richard III Society welsite, at the same time, says that they don't have a programme as yet, but I suppose they are going to prepare one.

A group of Italian friends and I are interest in going to Leicester for the service, at least the one on the 23rd.

Is any one of you planning to go? Do you have more practical infos for organising the trip? Thank you!

Hi Cecilia, I'm planning to go (though, like you, I only heard about this now!). Or at least, all this time I've felt a powerful desire to go, and I do believe I will& I'm coming from Finland and I wouldn't be able to stay in Leicester for several days, but it looks like the service of the 23rd would indeed be the best occasion to attend.Alas, I have no practical information to offer - I'm just waiting here anxiously for new developments :)

Re the service in the 23rd..in a recent email from Phil Stone he informed me that there would be places available for Society members ..In fact the service might be specifically for Society members but Im not 100% sure on that,,,and that there would be details in Septembers Bulletin about this..,I guess that would be explaining how you can apply for a place because, obviously, there won't be enough space for everyone who wants to go...Personally I would just love to attend and will be keeping my fingers crossed....Eileen

Just checked in the Society website and yes,,,the service on the 23rd is for Society members...so in that case it may be quite likely that those that apply get an invite...?

Fingers crossed that we'll all get the chance to attend, Eileen :) I'd be happy to stand during the service, as long as got in...I'm really pleased because I was afraid I'd have to go alone, but a good friend of mine has promised to come with me to Leicester (non-Ricardian, but she's starting to be interested and slowly even convinced by my ranting on this subject&). Sad as the occasion is, I'm actually excited about the trip.

Pansy..let's hope for the best.....if not I intend, anyway, to go when it hopefully has quietened down..but with the Centre just over the road I fear that will be a very long time...however, yes, fingers crossed Eileen

Thank you for your replies!I think as well that there may be news in the September Bullettin.

As far as I understand, yes, the service on Monday 23rd will be specifically for Society members, while the service on the 26th will be available only for those invited by the Cathedral Dean. I suppose there will be authorities, VIPs, and who knows, maybe someone from the Royal family?

Maybe they could record the service for those unable to attend......just a thought.
