Huntingdon succession

I'm puzzled by the statement that Huntingdon was the Yorkist heir. The Yorkist heir would have been a descendant of Elizabeth of York.By right of primogeniture, Queen Elizabeth's heir was Mary Queen of Scots, who'd have been backed by a French army. By right of Henry VIII's will, the heir was Lady Katherine Grey, a protestant. Even if Elizabeth had nominated Huntingdon, any attempt on his part to take the throne would have meant a major war.
