Sorry, I failed to comment on our Patron's mother passing away last
week - at an age (102) no Royal could have achieved in the fifteenth
century.

Did she? Aaah. I remember her unveiling the statue in Leicester. She
seemed such a nice person, very bright and bubbly.

I never had any direct dealings with Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, but she was a lady I admired - very hardworking, very dignified, and never the slightest breath of scandal, for all that she had led quite an interesting life before she married.

And I do remember Prince William of Gloucester as a dashing young man - I was 12 when he was killed, so just old enough to be starting to take an interest in dashing younf men!
