Today's Life of the Day for the New DNB (Dictionary of National Biography) is Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick, Richard's cousin and one-time mentor. You can access the article for a week (or permanently, if you're in Britain?) at http://www.oxforddnb.com/public/lotw/1.html I suggest copying the entire article to your Richard III files for easy access, especially if you don't have full access to the New DNB.

Thanks Carol, though one must be aware that Pollard is no Yorkist fan!

Which might explain why the picture caption identifies Isabel and George but not Anne and her two husbands! Actually, though, I thought the article was remarkably fair to our Richard (who comes across better than his brothers and no worse than Henry in the Anne Beauchamp matter and is not otherwise criticized even implicitly). Personally, I think that Tony has mellowed in his old age. True, he thinks that Richard murdered his nephews, but he stated on some documentary (I forget which one) that had he been Richard, "I'd have done [the same]."

One thing the article illustrates is how popular the name Richard was at the time!
