Rosemary Hawley Jarman

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Rosemary Hawley Jarman. Without her I probably would never have become a Ricardian and I know I'm not the only one.

(I'm not sure if's been discussed already, I did a search but found nothing but I know the search function doesn't always work properly)

Thanks Liz. I didn't know that either. You're not the only one. The scene in the book where the Maiden first meets Richard and dances with him in the gallery is, I think, one of the most lovely in Ricardian fiction. And I still have the original edition on my shelf. H

That is very sad. She was a very underrated writer with a unique style that could really bring history to life. RIP.

https://beforethesecondsleep.wordpress.com/category/rosemary-hawley-jarman/ Whilst looking for her death in the press I found this review of 'We Speak' which was written just before Leicester was to announce its DNA results. It's a moving assessment of her work and strangely appropriate given what is to happen in the next few days. H

I've searched using Google, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo and the only reference I've found is in Wikipedia, done on March 17 by someone calling him/herself "Dennis Moore":

Has anyone found an actual obit?

We Speak No Treason...my favourite Ricardian novel of all. What a shame RHJ did not live long enough to see the reburial of Richard...Eileen
