Edward V New DNB article

Yesterday's article for the New DNB (Dictionary of National Biography) features Edward V. The author is Rosemary Horrox, who unfortunately relies heavily on Mancini (without conceding that Mancini himself admitted not knowing EV's fate) for her assumptions about what happened to Edward. A shame that someone who can be so scholarly in investigating Richard's "good lordship" as Duke of Gloucester should rely so heavily on a single biased source regarding the Protectorship and the fate of his nephews. At least she doesn't use the word "usurpation" except in quoting the title of Armstrong's translation of Mancini. The article will be available without subscription for the next six days at http://www.oxforddnb.com/public/lotw/3.html if you're interested. (If you're in the U.K., you can access it free at any time if I'm not mistaken.)

Thanks for that Carol..I see the article gives mention of Lady Scrope 'standing for sponsor ' at Edward's christening while he and his mother were in sanctuary. ..Lady Scrope was Catesby's mother in law and must have been a great friend to EW..those long hours in sanctuary..wonder what they talked about? No mention of Eleanor Talbot and the pre-contract and no mention of the TR.
