truth, due to the lack of contemporary personal documentation and
commentary, excepting the Paston letters. We are not even sure where
Bosworth was fought! Is this dearth solely due to Tudor
censorship/destruction of WOR era related "paper"? It just seems so
odd that correspondence, documents, etc., from the early Tudor period
are so much more available. Why is there no portrait of Ann Neville,
for instance.My opinion,any others?

Vergil supposedly destroyed masses of documents/official records that did not agree with
the Tudor version of events. I think this is probably true as Henry Tudor had no qualms
about ordering the destruction of all copies of Titulus Regius.
But what a pity that hardly any personal correspondence seems to have survived - no
letters between Anne and Isobel Neville, or between Richard and Anne and nothing from
Elizabeth Woodville or Cecily Neville although there is the infamous letter Buck said (in the
17th century) he had seen written by Elizabeth of York to John Duke of Norfolk speaking
of her love for Richard & her fear that the Queen would never die. This letter was at the
time kept at Arundel Castle but I presume is long lost.
