I was wondering, How many of you think they'll go to Bosworth this summer? I have received my capy of the Bullettin today with the booking form. I'd like so much to go to Bosworth this summer (520 years, folks) but the little problem is the number of miles from Italy to the field...

Ihave been once already and enjoyed it so much -I thought it was done extremely well - I
was very moved to see Richards white boar banner flying on top of the hill and to think I
might be near the place where he had died along with many good men that day defending
their king and country. I do intend to go again but think I shall wait until they have
decided if they have in fact the correct place. Didnt like the film they were showing in the
little cinema though- Lawrence Oliver's Richard lll - I thought there would be some visitors
to the battlefield who would think was the way it really happened. Lets face it, there are
still many many people out there who equate Richard lll with someone who died crying out
a horse, a horse my kingdom for a horse - yuk.

We were there last year 2004 and had brilliant weather
both days. We had a lot of fun at the reenactment on
the first day (the 21) and then walking around the
fields the second day (the 22). We also made some new
acquaintances and friends among the reenactors and
some of the folks from the society events on the 22.
My favorite was the elderly couple we sat in front of
to watch the reenactment. She was from the city of
York and he was from Lancaster. He said to us that if
his side won, he wouldn't get his supper, but it was
ok since he planned on taking her out for fish and
chips if her side lost. I think they were teasig us
since we'd just got engaged a couple days earlier.
Well, we're getting married on the 21st this year -
and the airfare is pretty steep in the summer from the
US, so I don't know when we'll be back.
Cheers,
Mishka
