Trying to escape the Staffords for once ......

I decided to read Wilson's book on Bartholomew Gosnold and reached page
23 when I read that Lady Dorothy Stafford had hired Gosnold's father to
establish clear title to Wetheringsett Manor.

I already know that Lady Stafford was married to Sir William Stafford
but was the daughter of the first Baron Stafford and thus Thomas'
sister. By 1575, she was Mistress of the Robes to Elizabeth.
