Ipswich walk (by the Mid-Anglia Group)

This took place on Saturday, including a visit to the Record Office to view the Letters Patent pertaining to Richard's Charter (which subsequently went missing, probably not recently!)
We also visited:
Wolsey's birthplace, now Ensors' accountants,
his Gatehouse, formerly the Priory of Sts. Peter and Paul,
the Sun Inn,
the former Carmelite Priory, now the Buttermarket Shopping Centre,
the site of an inn owned by Chaucer's family
and Christchurch Mansion, including the Wolsey Art Gallery, featuring several T**** and Stuart portraits.
We recognised several portraits, including an Earl of Rutland, the three Devereux Earls of Essex and a woman who "looks as if she is sucking a lemon": Mary I of course, with Phillip.
When the Mid-Anglia website reappears, we have twenty or so photos of our tour for everyone to see.
