okay folks, i've found another public domain book at google print.
this one seems to have more blocked pages..or perhaps, just some pages
i really, really wanted to read are blocked.

but still it offers some interesting reading.

so, put
The History of Ludlow
in google and scroll past the hits, until you are offered the option of
search google print.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I tried to look at the White
Rose, all I could access were the front page and the index, and that
was only after a great deal of trouble.

did you try using the "search this book" feature? it is located above the book/page image? right at the top of the page.

that's how i've been skipping about in the books. i get to a page that lists a name or place of interest, and then proceed to read the book using the blue arrow keys at the bottom of the image/page.

i've also checked at bookfinder.com and you can buy these books, although they a bit pricey.
