Richard is frequently the victim of this, of course.
I have read that, were we to visit the Tower 150 years ago, the Yeoman
Warders would have pointed out "Anne Boleyn's bedroom" (built 1540)
and "Guy Fawkes' torture chamber" (built 1607).
Have fellow posters any such experience?

On this side of the pond, in the old colony of Upper Canada, one of our
patriots, William Lyon Mackenzie, seems to have slept in every log cabin
along Dundas Street between Toronto and Niagara during the 1837
rebellion. Actually, he is alleged to have slept in places about fifty
or sixty miles off the path he would likely have taken. Of course, this
story is a spin on a similar story told about George Washington.

It is my understanding that, early in this century, people were still
pointing out Rizzio's blood on the floor at Holyrood.

Speaking of Anne Boleyn, does she still show up at Hampton Court? My
summer camp councillors used to tell her story around the fire at nights.

I'm surprised that Richard hasn't been touted as a prominent ghost over
the years.

Bonnie Prince Charlie is another who must have slept in nearly every
house in Scotland, but he left locks of hair as he went.

Always thought it was interesting that a king of England who spoke
German faced off against a 'pretender' whose primary languages were
French and Italian. I'm a great believer in multiculturalism, but this
is ridiculous.

a month long progress, she seems to have slept in a hundred different

Yes, and it's astonishing how many people are surprised when they are informed that there were more Scots regiments than English ones on the Hanoverian side at Culloden.

What would he haunt? I've been to Bosworth on the
anniversary of the battle (the supposed place of his
death is quite peaceful - not that I'm all that
sensative to that sort of thing) and his supposed
resting place in Leicester (He'd be haunting a pretty
busy roundabout).
I just don't see it.
Middleham? It's possible but it's a ruin. All the
London palaces are gone... Where else (am I
forgetting)?
Perhaps he IS resting in peace afterall?

OH, right - Yorkminster. That's most likely.
The chapel in Sheriff Hutton?
Is Anne buried in Westminster Abbey? - Imagine the
after-hours Sheriff Hutton there!
