Putting the bodice ripper discussion aside, let's all lift a glass -
or three - to wish Richard a Happy 554th birthday today October 2nd!

554 years old? Hmmmmn, makes me feel much better about turning 47
today(Oct. 1st). I don't imbibe but do have a bunch of white roses for
birthday honors. Here's sand in yer gears, Dickon!

Happy Birthday, Richard!
I am also celebrating with a dozen white roses but these were given to me by my husband since I had to cancel my trip to York and the 50th Anniversary AGM due to illness in the family! I am there in spirit and will toast our favorite King on his Natal Day.

Indeed, today I will broach a firkin in honour of his majesty. Wait a
minute, no I can't; I have to go to work. Bloody hell!
Hey, I made my first post a year ago today. Maybe I'll broach a firkin
for myself. I'll do it tomorrow when I have a day off. No, wait, I can't
do it then either. Grandsons are coming over, and I have to be a role
model.
Good lord, why must life be so bloody complex?
Anyway, Dickon, may you have five hundred more. And may they go better
than did the first half-millennium.

Richard's in good company: also born today were Gandhi and Groucho Marx.

Cheers - very good to see Richard's influence in areas he knew nothing of in his lifetime.
