The Sitwells, in fact. I have a photocopy of a postcard from Reresby
Sitwell outlining his descent through Catherine Pole through her
daughter - Elizabeth, who married the 4th Earl of Worcester - and
Edith, Countess of Londesborough.
I am sure that this connection can be traced easily with my usual
sources.

It certainly has been and is now posted as a File. The Sitwells are
descended not only from George of Cclarence but Anne of Exeter as the
first Duke of Beaufort married Lord Hadham's daughter, Hon. Mary Capell.

I guess the Reresby and Penelope Sitwell that Seward dedicated his book - if we grace it with the name of book - on Richard to, are of the famous Sitwells.
Pity that.

Penelope? I shall have to check because this family are notorious for
outlandish forenames. The irony is that they are descended securely
from Richard's brother AND sister due to Mary Capell's marriage -
Reresby (Sir Sacheverell) only seems to have realised this in 1979 as
he sent MKJ the postcard and a copy found it's way to me.
I am sure their significance was way over Seward's head.

I assumed that Penelope was Reresby's wife.
