We shall know soon whether it conclusively proves Edward IV's paternity
of Lady Lumley because I have written to the Borthwick Institute to
view the original. Given the CP's previous view, KNOWING this, not
merely believing it because it is the simplest possible explanation to
satisfy all the facts, would be a great advance.

The Borthwick don't have the dispensation!
JA-H and I have to consult the "Vatican Secret Archive" for which we
have an address, two telephone numbers, one fax number and an e-mail
address. Not so secret, really, is it?

I think the reason is that Julian, Cardinal-Archbishop of Ostia, issued
the dispensation even though the couple came from the dioceses of York
and Durham (ie province of York). I cannot explain that, however.
