From 7-9, Channel 4 showed a documentary about the struggle translate
the bible into English. It reconstructed the lives (and deaths) of
Wycliffe, Tyndale and Cranmer and, whilst Rod Liddle was the presenter,
Dr. Rowan Williams (Cranmer's current successor) was a major
contributor.
Bizarrely, the second "relevant" programme was about the Carpenters! It
seems that Karen Carpenter, just like our Richard, died in the year of
her 33rd birthday but before it happened. I wasn't in "Ricardian mode"
again until this morning when I realised.
Still preparing for Scarborough Revolt Day, next Wednesday!
