A really significant anniversary tomorrow

450 years ago, on 18 April 1557 which was Easter Sunday, Thomas
Stafford and his followers landed near Scarborough and took the Castle.
Although the revolt was short lived, most of the rebels being executed
summarily and Stafford the following month, it was significant to us
for three reasons:
1) He was Richard's great-great-nephew.
2) Richard had held Scarborough Castle and visited it several times.
3) Stafford dubbed himself Lord Protector, on the grounds that Mary,
through her Spanish marriage, had forfeited the throne.
Please remember the Scarborough revolt tomorrow. Thankyou.
