CBE = Completely Biased Expert?

I suppose in fairness he is eminent enough a scholar to deserve it more than
many on the List. Somehow these Lists always remind me of my favourite Henry
VII quote - 'My masters of Ireland, you will crown apes next.'

Not just him - have you seen some of the others, in particular I am thinking of an author who managed to upset half of the worlds population with one book - would not want to be standing next to him at the ceremony - just in case.

Starkey seems to be the voice of history on tv, I have an idea someone stand him next to Rushdie at the ceremony.

What did Rushdie do to deserve having to stand next to Starkey? ^_^
