Based on a map I have (I think it's from Rawcliffe, The Staffords,
Earls of Stafford and Dukes of Buckingham: 1394-1521, p. xiii), it
appears that the Stafford estate in Suffolk as of 1448 was Haverhill.
A few miles southeast, across the River Stour in Essex, was the estate
at Baythorn. There were several other Essex properties, most notably
at Writtle. Rawcliffe states that the ducal household spent most of
its time at Writtle or Maxstoke.
