Hello all,

A little quiet here lately, but for those interested in "pop culture"
on the topic, the movie Richard III, that is in production put up
trailers on their web page. It is set in what looks like current day
Hollywood.

For the record, I have absolutely nothing to do with this movie and am
not trying to promote it. Just passing along info in case anyone is
interested. I just stumbled on it at IMDB.com by chance. I waited
until things were slow, so as not to disrupt any threads.

Yuk.

I quite liked David Carradine as well. But Shaky dialogue in that
setting is just putrid.

My, my, my. Look at the biography for the actor /
director / producer Scott Anderson.

From the website:

"A 1986 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional
College of Veterinary Medicine, Scott Anderson has
been a veterinary surgeon in Los Angeles for the past
20 years. A long-time Shakespeare fan, during the past
3 years he wrote, produced and directed “Shakespeare’s
Richard III” – a feature film version of Shakespeare’s
classic play, in a modern-day Los Angeles setting.

"When not working as a veterinarian (or on other
business ventures), Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time
with his lovely wife Dr. Lisa Brevik-Anderson and
their two exuberant sons, Paul (age 8) and Erik (age
4), as well as alpine mountaineering, scuba diving,
and traveling."

Yet another attempt by non A list actors to do a "different" view of
Shakespeare's slanderous piece.
Last one I was unfortunate to see was set in the Latin quarter.

obviously another low budget film.

we all know shakespeare's r3 makes a great villian.
but it takes big bucks to do all the costuming and era scenes, if and when hollywood does that, they might get my coins.

this paltry offering has some recogniseable actor names for the box office draw..but none of them are big box office stars. it won't even draw the lint out of my pocket for a viewing. i don't see this movie going boffo. but hey something has got to "fill-in" the void left by the sopranos..another thing i've never watched.

i'd still love to see keanu reeves play richard be it ala shakespeare, or preferrably in a true telling of his life/reign.
