Is there anything wrong with Allison Weir's works? Her History of the
British Royal Family is said to be good.

Well she has a theory. If the facts don't fit her theory she makes
them up. She also finds it impossible to look at a subject from all
possible sides.
She ignores anything anybody has ever said in Richard's favour, and
finds Shakespeare a reliable source, which we all know he never was,
nor never wished to be.
As she uses drama as a source for her works, clearly she is not
writing history, but fiction. And that is the only way to approach
her work, if you must approach them.

Jacob, where do I start?
Have a look at the messages on this forum over the past six years -
she has few historical qualifications, ignores all of the evidence
favourable to Richard, loves the Tudors - in a way that other
Tudorists like Paul Johnson do not - and writes from an irritating
romantic perspective. If she told me the time, I would need to check
my watch.
PS That is a moderate opinion compared to that of some forum members!
