Being American -- and one from the American frontier west -- I have no
idea about things relating to the current royal family. I guess
William will have to think of the role of the monachry in the 21st
century. Certainly the current formula will only lead to the royal
family having less power and influence and they will simply fade away
into obscurity (I'm not sure I spelled that correctly).
I do have a question about Edward V.
I was reading a book that said that Henry VI was required in a treaty
to ensure that neither Edward V or his brother were alive. Who was
that treaty with?

I would imagine that you read about the treaty with Spain, leading to Prince Arthur's marriage to Catherine of Aragon. Henry VII would have had to promise that Edward IV's remaining sons were both dead. This treaty led directly to the executions of the Earl of Warwick (who was a legitimate senior member of the House of York) and "Perkin Warbeck" (who may have been), and thus to the flight of the de la Pole brothers: Edmund (who was recaptured and consigned to the Tower) and Richard (who was not - see my current project).
