Cranmer's English (was New Testament translation)

Cranmer's English is indeed dramatic, the 1549 edition perhaps more so than the 1552 which
tends to be more flowery (for some reason having to do with the delicate balance of the day
between Catholic and Protestant, no doubt).

I have not heard of the C4 program, which may one day turn up on a specialist channel or
two in North America -- at 3 in the morning. Current TV culture may safely be called "full
philistine".

The above responds to Stephen lark: <Similarly, Cranmer's language is said to be very
dramatic - there was a C4 programme about the English translation of the Bible either last
Easter or the one before. Dr. Williams was a contributor. Has this been shown in Canada or
the States yet?>
