........... following in the footsteps of Charles Laughton, Keith
Michell, Sid James, Ray Winstone and Jonathan Rhys Meyers is Eric Bana,
who will play the part in "The Other Boleyn Girl".

It is said that the Prince of Wales will attend the premiere. He is
thought to be descended from Henry VIII through the Carey descent down
to the late Queen Mother.

Such a neglected period in history, so in need of dramatisation, the
Tudors!!!
Prince of Wales is going to the pictures? Do I care? Er, no!

If you mean John Rhys-Davies, perhaps best known as "Sallah" in the
first and third Indiana Jones movies, then according to Imdb the
answer is no. Curiously enough, though he did appear in the 1979 BBC
production of Shakespeare's play Henry VIII as Capucius, Ambassador
from Emperor Charles V. He has, however, played King Richard I
in "Robin of Sherwood" and King Priam of Troy. He could have made an
interesting Henry VIII in the king's later life, when his figure had
ballooned.

No, no, no. :-)

Better known for his portrayal of Gimli in the Lord of the Rings
trilogy!

I agree he would have made an excellent Henry VIII in later life, a far
better one perhaps than Richard Burton.
