Publishers of Historical Non-Fiction

Virgina writes to ask about "reliable publishers who produce Ricardian
or historical non-fiction." I'm tempted to say that in the new world
order of digital publishing you may be the most reliable publisher for
your own project. Conventional publishers have published several of my
books: ("Let There Be Life", "The Becoming", "Design and Science: the
life and work of Will Burtin"). "Power of a Woman. Memoirs...of Eleanor
of Aquitaine" I published myself. My play about Richard III, "Dark
Sovereign" may come out late this year, self-published under my
imprimatur, Shillingstone Press.

The main trick is not the once-complicated physical process of
sandwiching text between covers. That is now simple. The larger trick is
marketing your product, and that is something that conventional
publishers have almost ceased to do for any but their leading titles.

I can probably save you a large slice of learning-curve. Why don't you
contact me off-line.

Best wishes,

Robert
