My favourite day of days in the Ricardian calendar, the day Richard
and Anne were crowned King and Queen in what has been described as
the most magnificent and best attended coronation since the Conquest!
Happy Coronation day!

Yes - I believe Margaret Beaufort carried Anne's train - despicable woman. I wonder how
soon after she began her plotting?

She did- it was Richard's way of making peace, poor
man. And she probably started plotting even before
that. I can easily imagine her glaring at the back of
Anne's head and thinking, "Enjoy it while it lasts,
girlie."

Well you know with some mums only the best will do for their boys ;-)
Seriously though - I do believe Richard had no option other than to take the throne, I think
his and his families lives were on the line BUT I wonder if he and Anne ever missed their
former lives, spent mostly at Middleham. Particularly for Anne, as it meant separation
from their son. I know that this was the way things went in those times but it would
appear that the three of them had spent the majority of their time together at Middleham.
It became clear from very early on in their reign there was going to be plots, plots and
even more plots. Turbulent time, with, I should think, little peace of mind, especially for
the women.
